First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study compares two ways of screening for diabetic eye disease: one using artificial intelligence (AI) to read eye photos, and the other using human eye doctors. About 922 adults with diabetes will take part. The goal is to see if AI can speed up referrals and treatment, potentially preventing vision loss.
