Your smartwatch could soon spot a dangerous heart condition

NCT ID NCT05795842

Summary

This study is testing new computer software designed to find a hidden, irregular heartbeat called atrial fibrillation (AF) using data from common wrist-worn devices like smartwatches. Researchers are enrolling 500 people who recently had a stroke to see if the software is as reliable as standard medical heart monitors. The goal is to create a more convenient and affordable way to screen for this condition, which is a major cause of stroke.
