Hospital tests AI that reads faces to predict dangerous confusion
NCT ID NCT07337356
Summary
This study aims to see if a camera system using artificial intelligence (AI) can predict delirium, a serious state of confusion, in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. The system will analyze patients' subtle facial expressions and movements without touching them. Researchers will use this data, along with other health information, to build a computer model that tries to spot delirium early, before it's usually diagnosed.
