AI takes on heart failure: could it cut hospital stays?
NCT ID NCT07380555
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether an artificial intelligence (AI) system can help doctors manage medications for people with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). About 1,200 participants from 60 hospitals will be assigned to either AI-guided care or standard care. The goal is to see if AI reduces hospitalizations and heart-related deaths over 12 months.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
artificial intelligence decision support system
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that AI helps doctors choose better medications for heart failure, potentially reducing hospital stays and saving lives.
What could go wrong
This is a large but early-stage study without results yet. The AI recommendations may not improve outcomes over standard care, and the system's accuracy depends on data quality.
