Doctors vs. AI: Who's better at following the rules for lung disease?
NCT ID NCT06410547
Summary
This study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) tool could help doctors follow established treatment guidelines when discharging patients with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). Researchers compared standard care against care where the AI reviewed cases and suggested treatments. The goal was to see if the AI could help reduce mistakes in treatment, which can lead to dangerous flare-ups and hospital readmissions.
