AI reads myeloma cells to predict genetic risks
NCT ID NCT07410403
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study uses artificial intelligence to analyze the shape of individual myeloma cells from bone marrow samples. The goal is to predict genetic abnormalities (called FISH abnormalities) without relying on subjective human review. If it works, this AI method could make genetic testing faster, cheaper, and more accurate for multiple myeloma patients.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a faster, cheaper, and more accurate way to predict genetic risks in multiple myeloma patients.
What could go wrong
This is a very small early study with only 10 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The AI method needs much more testing before it can be used in clinics.
