AI coach helps oral cancer patients move again
NCT ID NCT07635381
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether an AI-powered physiotherapy system can help oral cancer patients improve mouth, neck, and shoulder movement after surgery or radiation. Fifteen participants will use the system for 4 to 6 weeks, doing daily exercises prescribed by the AI. The goal is to see if the approach is feasible, safe, and acceptable before larger trials.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
AI-assisted physiotherapy
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a personalized, home-based exercise program to help oral cancer survivors regain jaw, neck, and shoulder movement.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early feasibility study with only 15 participants and no control group. The AI system may not be user-friendly or effective for everyone.
