First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether an artificial intelligence (AI) tool can help surgeons perform gallbladder removal more safely. About 70 patients having laparoscopic (keyhole) gallbladder surgery will be randomly assigned to have the surgery with or without AI guidance. The main goal is to see if the AI helps surgeons achieve a key safety step called the Critical View of Safety, which may reduce the risk of injury.
