AI-Assisted surgery aims to improve brain bleed recovery
NCT ID NCT07077343
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two approaches for treating moderate brain hemorrhages: AI-assisted minimally invasive surgery to remove the clot versus standard medical care. About 680 patients will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. The goal is to see which method leads to better functional recovery and fewer complications.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
AI-assisted navigated hematoma aspiration (minimally invasive surgery)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a safer, more effective way to treat brain bleeds, potentially improving recovery and reducing disability.
What could go wrong
This is a mid-stage trial, and the surgery may not prove better than standard care. Risks include infection, bleeding, or complications from the procedure.
