Mayo clinic tests AI chatbot to ease surgery patient questions

Summary
This study aims to see if an AI virtual assistant on a phone app can reduce the burden of phone calls for plastic surgery patients and improve their experience. Researchers will compare 200 patients who use the AI assistant at home to those who call a standard care center with their questions. They will track call volume, call length, and patient satisfaction over one year to see which approach works better.
