First seen Mar 05, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks at why older adults may not respond as strongly to the pneumonia vaccine as younger people. Researchers will compare blood samples from 60 healthy volunteers aged 21-40 and 65+ before and after receiving the Prevnar-13 vaccine. The goal is to understand how aging changes immune cells called neutrophils, which could help improve vaccines for older populations.
