Herbal remedy challenges ibuprofen for post-wisdom tooth pain relief
NCT ID NCT07244029
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares an herbal extract called Aescin (Reparil®) to the common painkiller ibuprofen for managing pain, swelling, and jaw stiffness after wisdom tooth removal. About 100 adults aged 18-40 will take either Aescin or ibuprofen for five days after surgery. Researchers will measure pain, facial swelling, and how wide the mouth can open before surgery and on days 2 and 7 after. The goal is to see if Aescin works as well as ibuprofen but with fewer side effects.
