New drug combo aims to tame rare kidney diseases
NCT ID NCT07522099
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This Phase 2 study tests a new drug called ADX-038, alone or with another drug (telitacicept), in 30 Chinese adults with kidney diseases caused by an overactive complement system (IgA nephropathy, C3G, or IC-MPGN). The goal is to see if the treatment is safe and can help control the disease. Participants must have active kidney disease and meet other health criteria.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ADX-038 (siRNA drug) and telitacicept (fusion protein)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a new treatment option for certain complement-mediated kidney diseases, potentially slowing disease progression.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The combination therapy also adds complexity and potential side effects.
