New scans may predict lung scarring speed

NCT ID NCT06532071

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether special PET and MRI scans can predict how fast lung scarring (pulmonary fibrosis) will get worse in 60 adults aged 18-80 with certain types of this disease. Participants will have scans and breathing tests over 2 years. The goal is to see if these imaging tools can identify who will develop progressive fibrosis, helping doctors tailor treatment earlier.
