First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study is testing a new MRI receiver coil designed specifically for pregnant women to see if it can produce clearer and faster images of the fetus. Researchers will compare the quality of these research MRI scans to standard clinical fetal MRI and ultrasound. The study will enroll 300 pregnant women, including those with healthy pregnancies and those with concerns about fetal or placental abnormalities.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Investigational MRI coil designed for pregnant women
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to clearer and faster fetal MRI scans, helping doctors better assess fetal health during pregnancy.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase device study focused on image quality, not treatment. The new coil may not significantly improve images or may be less comfortable for some women.
