Scientists probe hidden heart risks of common prostate cancer therapy

NCT ID NCT05700903

Summary

This study aimed to understand why a common prostate cancer treatment (androgen deprivation therapy or ADT) increases the risk of high blood pressure and heart disease. Researchers measured how the nervous system and kidneys control blood pressure in a small group of men before and after starting this treatment. The goal was to gather information to help develop future strategies to protect heart health in prostate cancer survivors.
