Researchers test tool to better track attention problems in kids with epilepsy
NCT ID NCT01482026
Summary
This study aimed to test how well a specific questionnaire (the ADHD-IV rating scale) can detect changes in attention and hyperactivity symptoms in children who have both epilepsy and ADHD. Researchers followed 173 children aged 6-15 to see if the scale's scores changed over 12-16 weeks, comparing those receiving treatment for ADHD to those who were not. The goal was to validate this tool for future use in clinical trials testing new treatments for attention problems in this population.
