Major study tracks why pain persists in common uterine condition

NCT ID NCT07455721

Summary

This study aims to understand why some women with adenomyosis, a condition where uterine tissue grows into the muscle wall, continue to experience chronic pain despite treatment. Researchers will follow 1,200 women for one year to see if a specific pain sensitivity pattern, called central sensitization, predicts whose pain will last. The study will not test new treatments but will observe how well standard care works for different women.
