New drug combo shows promise for tough esophageal cancer

Summary

This study tests whether adding the immunotherapy drug adebrelimab to standard chemotherapy before surgery can help people with a certain type of esophageal cancer. The goal is to make the tumor easier to remove completely, lower the chance of cancer coming back, and improve survival. About 42 adults with borderline resectable esophageal squamous cell carcinoma will receive the combination treatment before surgery.
