VA trial aims to free blood cancer patients from lifelong pills
NCT ID NCT06520098
Summary
This study is for veterans with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) who are already taking a standard daily pill (like ibrutinib). It will test if adding a second pill, venetoclax, for one year leads to better cancer control and, importantly, allows patients to safely stop all treatment afterward. Researchers will compare this combination approach to simply continuing the original pill alone.
