First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to give radiation therapy before surgery for locally advanced rectal cancer. The goal is to increase the number of patients whose tumors completely disappear after treatment from 41% to 70%. Researchers will use a special index (ERI_TCP) to select patients who may benefit most from a higher radiation dose. About 33 adults with stable microsatellite rectal cancer will take part.
