Tailored transplant doses aim to beat blood cancer
NCT ID NCT06028828
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests a personalized approach to stem cell transplants for people with blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma. Instead of a one-size-fits-all chemotherapy and radiation regimen, doctors adjust the doses based on each patient's risk. The goal is to improve the chance of staying cancer-free without serious side effects. The study enrolls 60 adults aged 18-70 who have a suitable donor.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Fludarabine, Melphalan, and Total Body Irradiation
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a more personalized stem cell transplant approach that reduces relapse and improves survival for blood cancer patients.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 60 participants. The risk-adapted approach may not improve outcomes and could increase side effects like graft-versus-host disease or organ damage.
