Mountain-Air therapy tested for stroke recovery

NCT ID NCT04019522

First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested whether breathing short bursts of low-oxygen air (like being on a tall mountain) is safe for stroke survivors and might help the brain rewire itself. Sixteen adults who had a stroke at least six months earlier took part. The goal was to see if this simple therapy could boost recovery by triggering natural brain-repair proteins.
