Needles vs. screens: can ancient practice ease modern eye strain?
NCT ID NCT06823388
Summary
This study tested whether acupuncture can help reduce eye fatigue caused by using computers and phones. Thirty adults who regularly experienced eye strain were randomly assigned to receive either real acupuncture or a fake (sham) treatment that mimicked the sensation without actual needle insertion. Researchers measured changes in the eye's focusing ability before and after treatment to see if acupuncture provided relief.
