NCT ID NCT07494162

First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at whether acupuncture can reduce pain and improve daily function in people with chronic low back pain caused by myofascial pain syndrome (muscle knots). Sixty-four adults will receive either real or sham acupuncture for eight weeks. Researchers will use full-body PET/CT scans to see if changes in muscle metabolism and blood flow match reported pain relief.
