Acupuncture tested for pain in underserved cancer survivors
NCT ID NCT06814977
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether acupuncture is a practical option for cancer survivors who have ongoing joint pain. Researchers will enroll 60 racially diverse, underserved survivors and offer 10 weekly acupuncture sessions. The main goal is to see if people are willing to join and stick with the treatment, not yet to prove it reduces pain.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Acupuncture
What this could lead to
If this works, it could offer a safe, non-drug option for managing chronic pain in cancer survivors, especially those with limited access to care.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study (60 people) — it is not designed to prove acupuncture works, only whether it can be studied. Results may not apply to all survivors.
