Ancient needles meet modern medicine: can acupuncture slow Alzheimer's?

NCT ID NCT03810794

Summary

This study is testing whether adding acupuncture to the standard Alzheimer's medication donepezil can better help patients with mild to moderate symptoms. It will involve 180 people who will either receive the medication alone or the medication plus acupuncture three times a week for 12 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in memory, thinking skills, and the ability to perform daily tasks to see if the combination therapy offers more benefit.
