Ancient needles vs. modern heart problem: can acupuncture keep AFib away?

NCT ID NCT07487532

Summary

This study is testing whether adding acupuncture to standard care helps prevent the return of a dangerous irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) after a common heart procedure called catheter ablation. It will involve 120 people who have persistent atrial fibrillation and have just had a successful ablation. Half will receive acupuncture along with their usual medications, while the other half will receive only medications, to see which group has fewer recurrences over a year.
