Acupressure may ease fatigue in young cancer survivors
NCT ID NCT06442891
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether young cancer survivors (ages 15-39) could learn to do acupressure on themselves to reduce fatigue. 42 people who had finished cancer treatment at least three months ago and still felt tired took part. They used a special tool and a phone app to apply pressure to specific body points. The study checked if people would stick with it and if their tiredness improved.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Acupressure (self-administered relaxing acupressure using an AcuWand device and mobile app)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way for young cancer survivors to manage fatigue at home.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small pilot study with only 42 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It also relies on people remembering to do acupressure themselves, which may be hard to keep up.
