Zap to stop the drop: ancient technique tested for modern anesthesia safety

NCT ID NCT07433218

Summary

This study is testing if a mild electrical stimulation applied to specific points on the wrist (acupressure) can help prevent dangerous drops in blood pressure when older patients are put under general anesthesia. Researchers will compare two different frequencies of stimulation to see which works better at keeping blood pressure stable. The goal is to reduce the need for emergency blood pressure medications during this critical part of surgery.
