This study looked at whether a non-invasive technique called transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) can improve sleep in elderly patients after abdominal surgery under general anesthesia. 104 participants aged 65 and older were included. The main goal was to measure total sleep time on the first night after surgery, with additional checks on sleepiness and insomnia over the next two days.
