Zap to the wrist may calm Post-Surgery brain fog in seniors
NCT ID NCT06161662
Summary
This study tested if a gentle electrical stimulation on specific wrist and ear acupoints could reduce confusion (delirium) in older adults after major abdominal surgery. Researchers enrolled 226 patients to see if this non-drug method could lower delirium rates and improve recovery, while also checking for changes in brain wave patterns. The goal was to find a safe way to ease a common and distressing post-surgery complication.
