Global study tracks activity to unlock obesity mystery
NCT ID NCT02925156
Summary
This research project followed 2500 Black adults in five countries to understand if the amount of energy people burn through daily activity is linked to weight gain and diabetes risk. Participants wore activity monitors, and some had special water tests, to accurately measure their energy use over two years. The goal was to see if a widespread drop in physical activity is a key reason obesity rates are rising globally.
