Brain tumor patients may ditch radiation thanks to smart drug combo

NCT ID NCT06974370

First seen May 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study is testing whether people with brain metastases from lung cancer or other solid tumors can safely avoid radiation therapy if their medication (immunotherapy, targeted therapy, or chemotherapy) shrinks or stabilizes the brain tumors. About 45 participants will get a brain MRI 4-8 weeks after starting medication. If the tumors are stable or shrinking, they will skip radiation and continue monitoring. If tumors grow, they can still receive standard radiation. The goal is to see who can avoid radiation without harming their health.
