This study explored whether measuring a gene called Acod1 in the blood can help predict which sepsis patients are at higher risk of dying. Researchers tested blood samples from 52 adults in the ICU within 24-48 hours of admission. The goal was to see if this gene test could be a useful early warning tool for doctors.
