New probe could unlock secrets of achalasia

Summary

This study aims to better understand achalasia, a disorder where the valve between the esophagus and stomach doesn't open properly. Researchers will use a new imaging probe to measure how the valve works and check for muscle scarring in 80 adult patients. The goal is to learn more about the disease to potentially help doctors intervene earlier in the future.
