NCT ID NCT06044818
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether a speech analysis tool called acceXible can help screen for and monitor major depressive disorder. Researchers analyzed voice recordings from 166 adults as they described images. The goal was to see if changes in speech patterns relate to depression. If validated, this could offer a quick, remote way to assess mental health.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a simple, non-invasive tool to help doctors screen for and track depression using just a voice recording.
What could go wrong
This is a completed validation study, not a treatment trial. The tool may not be accurate enough for widespread use, and results may not apply to non-Spanish speakers.
