Prostate cancer patients may ditch painful hormone shots with new pill combo
NCT ID NCT03565835
First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at whether men with advanced prostate cancer can safely stop their regular hormone injections (like leuprolide) while continuing to take abiraterone and prednisone pills. The goal was to see if testosterone levels would stay low enough without the shots. 31 men participated, and the results help doctors understand if this simpler treatment approach is possible.
