Massage tested to ease constipation for kidney patients
NCT ID NCT07402785
Summary
This study tested whether abdominal massage could help relieve constipation in people receiving hemodialysis treatment for kidney failure. Researchers compared 24 patients who received a 15-minute massage twice a week for six weeks during their dialysis sessions with 25 patients who received only their usual care. They measured changes in constipation severity, stool consistency, and quality of life to see if the massage made a difference.
