First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-stage trial tests a new biologic drug called ABCL635 for moderate-to-severe hot flashes in postmenopausal women. The study first checks safety in healthy volunteers, then measures how well the drug reduces hot flash frequency and severity. About 136 people will take part, receiving either the drug or a placebo by injection under the skin.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ABCL635 (a biologic drug given by injection under the skin)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could lead to a new treatment option that reduces the frequency and severity of hot flashes in menopausal women.
What could go wrong
This is a very early first-in-human trial with only 136 participants, so safety and effectiveness are not yet proven. The drug may cause side effects or fail to improve symptoms.
