Massive study checks cancer risk for common arthritis drug

NCT ID NCT05413044

Summary

This study tracked over 140,000 people in Sweden with rheumatoid or psoriatic arthritis to see if the drug abatacept affects their risk of developing cancer. Researchers compared cancer rates in people taking abatacept to those taking other standard arthritis medications. The goal was to gather real-world safety information after the drug was already approved and widely used.
