New PET tracer aims to spot multiple cancers in one scan
NCT ID NCT07144748
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study is testing a new radioactive tracer called 68Ga-NYM096 in 120 adults with various cancers. Participants receive one injection of the tracer followed by a PET/CT scan to see how well it highlights both primary tumors and cancer that has spread. The goal is to identify which cancers show up best on the scan, which could help guide future use of this imaging tool.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
68Ga-NYM096 (a radioactive tracer for PET/CT imaging)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to better ways to detect and monitor many types of cancer using a single imaging agent.
What could go wrong
This is an early imaging study, not a treatment trial. It may not show clear benefits for all cancer types, and the tracer may not work as hoped in larger studies.
