Breathe away high blood pressure? thai study tests 4-7-8 method
NCT ID NCT07018128
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study has two parts. First, it looks at genes that might be linked to high blood pressure in Thai people. Second, it tests whether a specific breathing pattern called 4-7-8 (inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7, exhale for 8) can help lower blood pressure. About 200 adults with hypertension will practice this breathing twice daily for 3 months. The goal is to see if this simple technique can be an effective, non-drug way to manage blood pressure.
