Mayo clinic tests Radiation-Free scan to speed cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT06409000
Summary
This study tested whether 3D surface scans could replace standard CT scans for planning electron radiation therapy for cancer. Researchers compared the accuracy of treatment plans created from 3D scans versus traditional CT scans in 26 adult patients. The goal was to see if this method could reduce patient radiation exposure and shorten the time needed to start treatment.
