3D-Printed guard aims to shield cancer patients from painful radiation side effects
NCT ID NCT04870762
Summary
This study is testing whether a custom-made, 3D-printed mouth guard can help reduce painful mouth sores and blisters in people receiving radiation therapy for head and neck cancers. About 119 patients will be randomly assigned to either use the guard during their standard radiation treatment or receive standard care without it. The main goal is to see if the guard protects healthy mouth tissue, potentially leading to less pain and better quality of life during treatment.
