3D printers craft special utensils to fight malnutrition in hospitalized patients

NCT ID NCT07087574

Summary

This study is testing whether custom-made, lightweight cutlery handles, created using 3D printing, can help hospitalized patients with neurodegenerative diseases eat more food on their own. Researchers will enroll 75 patients to see if these personalized handles improve their ability to feed themselves and increase the amount they eat during meals. The goal is to see if this simple, low-cost aid can boost independence and nutrition for people who struggle with standard utensils.
