New scan could spot hidden prostate cancer earlier
NCT ID NCT05520255
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study is testing a new imaging tracer called 18F-PSMA-1007 for PET/CT scans to see if it can better detect where prostate cancer has spread in the body. About 2800 adults who have already had treatment for prostate cancer (such as surgery or radiation) and have signs that the cancer may have returned will receive the tracer and then be scanned. Researchers will also check for any side effects from the tracer and follow up on any suspicious spots found on the scan to see if they are truly cancer.
