New PET scan could sharpen detection of brain tumors

NCT ID NCT06055790

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests a special PET scan (18F-Fluciclovine) to see if it can better detect brain metastases and tell them apart from changes caused by earlier treatments. About 20 adults with known or suspected brain metastases will get the scan before and after treatment. The goal is to improve diagnosis and reduce uncertainty from standard MRI results.
