Summary

This study tested a new radioactive dye called 18F-FDS that lights up on PET scans where certain bacteria or fungi are growing. Researchers wanted to see if it could help find infections in the body. Sixteen people with known or suspected infections or cancer took part. The study did not offer treatment, only imaging to learn how the dye behaves in the body.
