New scan could replace painful biopsy for bone marrow disease
NCT ID NCT06164561
First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a special type of PET/MRI scan can accurately diagnose and track myelofibrosis, a serious bone marrow disorder. About 57 adults with the condition will get both a standard PET scan and the new FAPI PET/MRI. The goal is to see if the new scan can match or replace the current gold standard of bone marrow biopsy, which is more invasive and painful.
